Three Rivers Women’s 18-Hole Golf Club is a group of women who golf regularly on Tuesday mornings, beginning with the last Tuesday in March and continuing through October. A different competition is played each week. We plan fun yet competitive, sometimes individual, sometimes team, golf outings. Our members represent a variety of golfing skills. We play the game according to the rules of golf, but an enjoyable experience is our main objective.
Unless otherwise noted, the entry fee for each competition is $2. There is also an optional chip-in pot ($0.50). Players are asked to be on hand by 7:45 a.m. Tee groups and times are drawn out of a hat at 8:00 a.m. A list of events can be found under the WOMEN’S CLUB tab.
Play starts in 2017 with a scramble on Tuesday, March 29 and concludes with another scramble, this one with the 9-Hole Women, on October 31. Players are asked to be on hand by 7:45 a.m. Tee groups and tee times are drawn out of a hat at 8:00 a.m.
Meetings and Membership
Meetings are held in the Scottie Dog Café on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 a.m., with this year’s first meeting scheduled for April 12th. A competitive event follows the meetings. Membership fee is $51, which includes the $31 annual GHIN dues (for establishing and maintaining a scoring handicap). To join or to get more information, please see the contact information below. As previously noted, our members represent a wide range of skill levels, and new members are especially welcome. The club’s goals are to promote interest in golf among women, and to help women have a keener knowledge of the rules and etiquette of the game of golf. We like to meet new people and play golf regularly.
The Summer Tournament will be a one-day, “Match Play” format event on June 20th. Participants will be divided into two teams of equal handicaps. Each participant on one team will then compete with a participant on the other team whose handicap is equal or as close to equal as possible. The cost for this event is $5. Participants must sign up and pay no later than June 13th.
Heritage Bank Women’s Scramble
One of the highlights of our year is sponsoring the Heritage Bank Women’s Scramble. With the help of Three Rivers Golf Course, we are able to put on this highly popular women’s tournament. A significant part of the sponsor money raised for the tournament has been given to local charities for the past several years.
The Heritage Bank Women’s Scramble will be held on July 19th and 20th of 2017. This competition features two-woman teams in a scramble format. The competition is open to women with a current USGA handicap. Please see a separate page under the WOMEN’S CLUB tab for more information about this event and a sign-up form (when finalized). Entries must be postmarked no later than July 10th. Entries received before June 27th will be eligible for a $10 price reduction.
The Club Championship is a two-day, 36-hole “Medal Play” event. This year’s dates are August 15th and 16th. The Club Champion will be the person with the lowest gross score for the two days. The person with the lowest net score will be awarded Low Net of the Field. There will also be other awards for gross and net within divisions, with the number of divisions depending on the number of entries. Sign-ups begin July 25th and end on August 8th. Cost to participate is $10, and must be paid by August 8th. Members must have participated in at least six Daily Play events or “qualified rounds” at Three Rivers Golf Course.
Other activities offered are the Birdie Board, the Hole-in-One Contest, and the Ec Board Competition.
