Three Rivers Women’s 18-Hole Golf Club is a group of women who golf regularly on Tuesday mornings, beginning with the last Tuesday in March and continuing through October. We plan fun yet competitive, sometimes individual, sometimes team, golf outings. Our members represent a variety of golfing skills. We play the game according to the rules of golf, but an enjoyable experience is our main objective. Days of play are Tuesdays, beginning in 2020 with a Chapman format event on Tuesday, March 31st, and concluding with a scramble on October 27th.
One of the highlights of our year is sponsoring the Heritage Bank Women’s Scramble. With the help of Three Rivers Golf Course, we are able to put on a highly popular women’s tournament. A significant part of the sponsor money raised for this tournament has been given to local charities for the past several years.
Other activities offered are the Birdie Board, the chip-in pot, the Ec Board competition, the Summer Tournament, and the Club Championship.
Our members represent all skill levels, and new members are especially welcome. The club’s goals are to promote interest in golf among women and to help women develop a keener knowledge of the rules and etiquette of the game. We like to meet new people and play golf regularly.
Unless otherwise noted, the entry fee for each competition is $2. There is also an optional chip-in pot ($0.50). Players are asked to signed in by 8:15 a.m. Tee groups and times are drawn out of a hat at 8:15 a.m.
Meetings are held in the Scottie Dog Café (above the Three Rivers Pro Shop), usually on the second Tuesday of each month at 8:00 a.m., with the exceptions of this year’s first meeting on April 14th, when the meeting will be at 7:30 a.m., and the July meeting (held on June 30th) and August meeting (held on August 4th), due to tournament scheduling.
Membership fee for 2020 is $60, which includes a $36 annual GHIN fee (for establishing and maintaining a USGA golfing handicap). Members who already have a GHIN membership through another club may pay just the $24 club dues. There is also a $5 optional annual fee for the Hole-in-One fund. This popular Mixed Chapman format tournament has been cancelled for 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions and concerns. We look forward to resuming this event in 2021.
Heritage Bank Women’s Scramble
One of the highlights of our year is sponsoring the Heritage Bank Women’s Scramble. With the help of Three Rivers Golf Course, we are able to put on this highly popular women’s tournament. A significant part of the sponsor money raised for the tournament has been given to local charities for the past several years.
Unfortunately, this event has also been cancelled for 2020 due to COVID-19. We look forward to resuming in 2021.
The Club Championship is a two-day, 36-hole “Medal Play” event. This year’s dates are August 11th and 12th. The Club Champion will be the person with the lowest gross score for the two days. The person with the lowest net score will be awarded Low Net of the Field. There will also be other awards for gross and net within divisions, with the number of divisions depending on the number of entries. Sign-ups begin July 21st and end on August 4th. Cost to participate is $10, and must be paid by August 4th. Members must have participated in at least six Daily Play events or “qualified rounds” at Three Rivers Golf Course.
Awards will be made within divisions for the members who record the most birdies during the season. Birdies may be posted only if they occur while participating in a regular Tuesday Daily Play event, or in the Summer Tournament or Club Championship.
Any member who has paid $5 to the Hole-In-One fund will win $50 if they score a hole-in-one on any day while golfing at Three Rivers Golf Course. The requirements for winning are as follows: 1) Player must have paid the $5 prior to scoring the hole-in-one; 2) The round must be posted and the Treasurer must be notified and shown the card with proper signatures; 3) Player must be golfing at Three Rivers Golf Course with another member of the association, a member of the 9-Hole Three Rivers Women’s Association, or with a member of Three Rivers Men’s Association.
Funds are held over from year-to-year. The Treasurer determines when a new collection needs to be made.
